Now It's Fine (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) Now it’s time to start again Don’t expect it but things may change I’ve been messing around so long so long, so long And my mind tries to get away I don’t care what the people say Play the game just like when we met Come on, come on I know it’s true I can see clearly because of you And now it’s fine You should give me another chance Another chance… Now it’s fine, now it’s fine Now it’s fine, now it’s fine I’ve been sheltered for so long Crazy is what you’re thinking of They might think I’ve just passed away Come on, come on Now I know more than before My life was a race against the clock All the pieces start to fit It’s so right It’s so right You know, it’s easy to give up and lose everything you own It’s like being blind and drunk But there’s no reason for being unhappy If I see you are still beside me If I can rely on you and be sure that it’s true That it’s true Now it’s fine, now it’s fine I know it’s true I can see clearly because of you And now it’s fine You should give me another chance Another chance… Now it’s fine, now it’s fine Now it’s fine, now it’s fine

Do It Again 04:03
Do It Again (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) Well, it seems that you’re playin’ the game again with my loneliness Walls have ears, I can hear you every night whispering a name Tell me babe, do you know I’m close to you? Tell me babe, you’re takin’ my breath away Tell me babe, you are just carrying me away Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Silence’s here It’s my bedmate once again with my loneliness I can hear your high heels inside my head drumming like a snare Tell me babe, do you know I’m close to you? Tell me babe, you’re takin’ my breath away Tell me babe, you are just carrying me away Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again The more I think about you babe the more I lose my head I only live for you, I don’t know why you cry when you turn off the light Does it make you happy then Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again Do it again, oooohhh, oooohhh, do it again

You’d Do Anything (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) You’d do anything When my life just fades You are my friend In case I need someone When everything has changed You only smile again And there’s no pain To be let alone In your mind You feel the same In your life Your friends are there I’d do anything If your plan fails I am your friend In case you need someone And when it’s clear as day Just go straight away But don’t look back on Where you once belonged It’s so hard To live that way Got to try, that’s what they say Now you are making it big Why don’t we go for a drink? Ohhh, where are those days? Ohhh, where are those days? The bad old days are gone You’d do anything When my life just fades You are my friend In case I need someone When everything has changed You only smile again And there’s no pain To be let alone In your mind You feel the same In your life Your friends are there Now you are making it big Why don’t we go for a drink?

Sometimes 03:32
Sometimes (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) Sometimes I feel That I’ve got to be near you But gotta be free Sometimes you feel That I want to be happy And need to be healed I don’t wanna feel the same The same as all these years Tell me what you think When you see me out of the way Sometimes I know What you need I don’t know why Sometimes you’re unhappy Having so much You feel so blue You’ve got to be near me For changing your mood And if you don’t know what to say Don’t try to make a guess Soon it will be alright ‘cause I will try my best Sometimes you know what you need Ahhh, many times I’ve been thinking of Ohhh, makin’ speak my mind ‘cause the words are hard to find And I feel as clear as mud Tell me why I’m the blind leading the blind Would you drive this winding road So come along I don’t wanna feel the same The same as all these years Tell me what you think When you see me out of the way Sometimes I feel you need me Sometimes you know what you need

Step By Step 04:42
Step By Step (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) I’m going step by step I’m trying to find the right words I’m going step by step It’s like a trip around the world I’m going to tell you about my life Step by step, truth and lies I’m going step by step I’m trying to meet you everyday I’m going step by step It’s hard to find an easy way You tell me that you’re looking for Your own way, step by step I don’t know why you’re thinking of me If you don’t give me a chance I didn’t expect you to be that kind That kind of girl I know my heart is wrong So can you show me where I am? I know my heart is wrong Is this your way of having fun? I will be glad to barely see The day you stop avoiding me I don’t know why you’re thinking of me If you don’t give me a chance I didn’t expect you to be that kind That kind of girl We’re alone, since a long time ago Why don’t we make up our minds I find myself all alone since you’ve gone Step by step you’ll soon leave me behind I don’t know why you’re thinking of me If you don’t give me a chance I didn’t expect you to be that kind That kind of girl We’re alone, since a long time ago Why don’t we make up our minds I find myself all alone since you’ve gone Step by step you’ll soon leave me behind

Rainbow Lane 03:17
Rainbow Lane (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) Plasticine faces stare down From caramel windows Spring sunshine mix colours up Getting rid of my fears It’s not easy to guess If I’ve ever been here Are these Rainbow Lane’ Memories in my head Lent by the rain? When the tower bells begin to chime Birds in Rainbow Lane are bound to fly Should these melodies shine on me My heart full of pain will be set free To be near you Jelly wall throbbing Under my steps Chimney pots creeping Up without rest It is hard to see The sacks of chickpeas With the sparkling Wet wheels Going West It’s not easy to guess If I’ve ever been here Are these Rainbow Lane’ Memories in my head Lent by the rain?

Stupid Rock Star’s Dream (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) I got it, I got it My Stupid Rock Star’s Dream It would be fantastic to watch my clip on TV Answering to stupid questions on the screen If they want I can play inside a pool to look pretty cool but in fact I’m just a fool My MySpace is bursting of horny girls Looking forward to seeing me play in their place, in their place One of my biggest wishes Was having fun with my fans Just for kicks in the back seat of the van But something I can’t help Is getting on my nerves When I sign those photographs Of myself When I put my Ray Ban sunglasses on I can hide my red eyes to the world I am not a nobody, I’m a big hit Who cares about what I do in my limousine Where I can hide all my sins You just don’t take anything in Not on your life! You poor thing! I got it, I got it My Stupid Rock Star’s Dream Ooooh Who are all these clowns? They follow me like a troupe on the run Can’t get away, can’t get away from them I need again my feet back on the ground Where are my pills? When I put my Ray Ban sunglasses on I can hide my red eyes to the world I am not a nobody, I’m a big hit Who cares about what I do in my limousine Where I can hide all my sins Well, I need a sabbatical year In New York or Tahiti Who cares about what I do in my dreams It’s only a fantasy Well, I need to stop this trip You just don’t take anything in

Under Your Spell (Music by Fausto Martin and Words by Susi Mayoral) No more clouds in the sky No more dew on the grass No more shining stars No mist at dawn Nothing looks the same now Everything has changed in my life Got to learn to live in the dark I wish I could shine Maybe I’ll cry tonight And my tears will fall like rain ‘cause I cannot stand the pain I’m still under your sweet spell I’m caught in your dreams again I feel scars on my skin Didn’t go away with the past You stilled my fears with your love You’re fixed in my mind Come and fly with the wind And always be my little king Shelter my broken heart I miss you so much Maybe I’ll cry tonight And my tears will fall like rain ‘cause I cannot stand the pain I’m still under your sweet spell I’m caught in your dreams again Oh no, oh no… I’m sad and lonely May I borrow your smile Close your eyes and I will just close mine Before I kiss you goodbye Sweet dream of mine

The Curtain Shop And Alterations (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) Streets don’t hold any fairy tales And dreams disappear overnight the curtain shop looks like a jail Another day goes by People walking down the street Traffic’s thundering All playing their role as a walk-on part My lead role’s really sad That’s the way it should be played Keeping in mind the rules All my plastic soldiers rest In an old box of shoes I am an easy going guy But I’m not doing well The screenplay ain’t got any appeal this story’s out of date Needles are breaking my veins These alterations again Day after day it’s the same All my life looks like a Murakami’s tale Always looking for something out there Surrounded by other people’s loneliness Would you like to know what’s coming next? Throw me in at the deepest end Needles are breaking my veins These alterations again Day after day it’s the same Streets don’t hold any fairy tales And dreams disappear overnight the curtain shop looks like a jail desire’s jail , my mind’s jail But I don’t know why, I don’t know why…
10.
After All These Years (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) After all these years I can still remember The day you came into my life After all these years Your eyes keep on shining When I come into your sight Always find myself looking for your face just in case you turn around and smile to me again and you have simply made my day After all these years I still enjoy seeing you Keeping the flowers that you picked After all these years My heart keep on beating When I look at our old pics Don’t ask me why days seem to be so long if you’re not here Why have all these years gone by so quickly as a shooting star Only a twist of fate Can take me away from you And I wonder how I’d feel All my life would stop dead And I guess I would lose my head After all these years We still keep on sharing Our thoughts while we walk hand in hand After all these years Here I am still singing For you a new song not too sweet
11.
Make Yourself At Home (Music and Words by Fausto Martin) After a 16-hour trip and knackered from head to toe Country music welcomed us along with a cowboy’s card (It) Was dusk in Texas, all was growing dark Your place didn’t seem to appear And we were getting lost, you know But a lucky find, there it was The door keys and a note on your door Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Got trapped, no way out Make yourself at home Two mucky cats appeared this time Thinking we’d save their lifes Your toilet room was really nasty even closing our eyes And we wished to be miles away at home Tell us where to rest our tired bones We just have our guitars and drums to sleep on Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Make yourself at home Thank you Erin Got trapped, no way out Make yourself at home Your bedroom’s red light blew my mind But your mattress put me off Polas showed your sweetest smile stuck on the naked wall Baby, I‘d rather get drunk to get to you ‘cause I would need to be blind enough too So we’d rather get lost in the 6th Street clubs

about

THE RIFFBACKERS is the new project of Fausto Martin (guitar and lead vocals) and Nacho Garcia (drums), after the break up of their former band The Winnerys (Rock Indiana-Spain/Rainbow Quartz-USA 2001-2007) in February 2007, together with Octavio Vinck (guitar on Paul Collins' Beat and Amaral) and Dani Montero (bass on Cooper).

The band was born in the springtime of 2007 in Madrid, starting that summer the recording sessions of their first album The Curtain Shop And Alterations, a brand new 11-song set written by Fausto Martin who was mainly inspired by 70's Pop and Rock artists (Raspberries, Badfinger, Cheap Trick, The Who, Paul McCartney) and 80's New Wave, Powerpop and PubRock bands (The Knack, Paul Collins' Beat, Rockpile).

The Curtain Shop And Alterations was released at the end of 2009 under their own label Rainbow Lane Records, with great acceptance by the critics, record labels and specialized power pop sites (Not Lame, Kool Kat Musik, Jam Records, Powerpopaholic, PowerPop Overdose, AbsolutePowerPop...) and the general public.
